1.1.10 Progress -- CGs inbound!

It's Vex with a visual update... And also a bunch of other updates. Now, this dev log isn't to announce an update being live as of yet, but I wanted to share with you all the changes that have been happening behind the scenes! You're welcome to check out the Discord as I tend to post live the things I've completed as I've made them.

First point is that each girl has a semi-animated CG (in that they blink... Which I will count as minor animation! :P) You can see Aiko and Kana in this video


I just got Haruka from our artist Laran, so she isn't in the video above. Below is the current round of CGs for each girl. Each has several expressions, though there is no full animation (no arms moving etc). This will be the standard moving forward for the CGs of each girl. There is at least four more coming, potentially eight (budget allowing, as I'm currently paying out of pocket as the KickStarter did not reach it's goal.) 

We've also had several backgrounds added in, the Library (shown in the last update) and the Cafeteria.


In addition to the CG implementation, I've also added some other features; achievements, sprite gallery, BG gallery, music room. This is thanks to tofurocks who made a really amazing GUI template! There is still a long way to go with this feature, as I am still learning to code as I go. Ideally this will allow you to look at ALL the sprites in the game, though currently it's just Haruka. I would like to get all this squared away and to clean up the menus before I share the next update.

Additionally, the next update may be stripped down to JUST what's been polished, and end after the study session/day two. I want to continue to refine and improve the flow of the game and some of the later sections are clunky and haven't been polished up enough. I've found people either end up confused or unsure of the story. I will also be narrowing down the story to one key narrative experience with minor variations. Though the game will still have two functional endings, similar to the original demo.

This game lives in a very (potentially) large universe and this is just one fragment of it. I would prefer for this game to stand as one solid, polished experience rather than dilute it down into 12+ endings that don't stick true to the original intent. I will be pretty clear in this moving forward, as I think as a first time game developer, it would be smartest for me to stick to my original intent for the project; an anti-dating sim with meta psychological horror elements. 

And if the project does well, I can always expand on it in future.
